Hangjun Lee

(1977) is a filmmaker, independent curator and Program Director of the Experimental Film and Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS). He programmed Letterist Cinema, film performances and expanded cinema events, retrospective programs of Okuyama Junichi, Michael Snow, among others. He initiated Asia Forum 2009 at EXiS, an annual platform for Asian experimental moving images. Recently he curated the opening commemoration screening program Cinematic Divergence 2013 and live film and improvised music festival Mujanhyang 2014, both for the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Seoul, and Embeddedness: Artist Films and Videos from Korea 1960’s to Now (2015), for the Tate Modern in London. He performed with many musicians, such as Jérôme Noetinger (France), Dickson Dee (China), Martin Tétreault (Canada), Kracoon (Indonesia), Will Guthrie (France), to develop live filmic language as filmmaker.
